December 17, 2004China WakingI've previously posted several links to articles that outline China's growing economic foundation and America's resultant dependancy on it. This op/ed piece puts those figures in the larger context, namely that China is playing to win. That their growing power isn't an economic fluke founded soley on a surplus of cheap labor, but a concerted effort on all fronts to become a superpower. Think about that while doing your Christmas shopping. Posted by dacriss at December 17, 2004 02:35 PM | TrackBackComments
So alarmist, Andy! Never thought you were one to be like this. Gosh how Indiana can affect someone! Posted by: Frances at December 22, 2004 07:27 PMYea, I'm with Frannie on this one; how can you proliferate this article which promotes authoritarianism as the pre-eminent political model? Our most talented kids at Qiannan would beg to differ. Posted by: Alf at December 28, 2004 02:55 AMYeah, yeah. Maybe I didn't read ALL of the article. I latched onto the fact that while the US is cutting its public diplomacy budget China is increasing its own. Post a comment
